At the beginning of November we headed out to New York City to celebrate Julie’s 35th birthday and Scott’s 5th year cancer free. We left Elsie in Colorado with Grammie and Papa (that deserves a whole post by a guest blogger grammie) and were prepared for a weekend of Fun!
On Friday night we were able to steal Scott and Julie away for a fabulous dinner at Alto. This is our first time seeing Scott in Jul in their new east coast environment and Julie looked amazing (scott looked the same).
The next morning we slept in (yes you heard it, we slept in!) and ordered room service breakfast!! (hello heaven this is Mandy calling!). We finally showered up and headed for a late lunch with Matt and Guy – who also look great (we missed Annie, Todd and Lauren). We spent much of the lunch discussing politics* and the economic crisis and even got a little dirt on Guy’s new lady friend.
After lunch we walked around New York even popping by Ground Zero. We headed back to the hotel to get our drink on and prepare for the night. Scott and Julie rented out a private room in the TenJune nightclub. The club opened at 11pm.
We started the night at Ono for some yummy dinner with half the crew

and then we headed to the club. When we walked in they immediately handed us a Cosmo (did I mention it was open bar). Mark took one, and had to off set it with a Gin and Tonic
There were over 40 people who had traveled to New York to celebrate with Julie and Scott … Leslie showed up for a few hours despite having Pneumonia.
here are just a few photos from the night … check the links out if you want more.
Look at us dancing, (mark snapped this long exposure)
We danced the night away finally leaving around 4:15 am – take that parents around the world! We partied till 4:15 and it only took us a week to recover!
for many more whacky photos (Note to Scott and Julie, don’t give mandy your camera unless you want lots of self portraits!)
What an amazing celebration! Thank you Scott and Julie!
